14 days on the golden route gives you flexibility most itineraries don't have. Use it: skip a temple if you're tired, spend an extra evening in Dotonbori, or add the Hiroshima day trip. A JR Pass may be worth it if you do the Hiroshima round trip — otherwise single tickets are usually simpler.
